Guggenheim Museum, New York

HELLO FROM NEW YORK !!

For two weeks i will be here in the big apple exploring the city and partaking in the Parsons Pre-College Summer Program for art and design...I've very excited indeed.

Ive only been in this glorious city for a few hours and i have already landed myself in the James Turrell exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum. The exhibition focuses on the Turrell's exploration of light, colour, perception and LIGHT....LOTS OF IT.

My favourite of his works on display was the Aten Reign which lies in the center of the museum involving an enormous space filled with changing artificial light. I sneakily managed to capture some of the different lights, the pink being my favourite as it was so luminous.

A Piet Mondrian painting that excited me so much i had to ask for reassurance that it was by Mondrian!

One of my favourite artists is Kandinsky and i was fortunate enough to view the Kandinsky in Paris collection. My most liked paintings of his are those painted with pastel hues-pink, violet, gold and turquoise.
His paintings that are primarily made up of abstract colours and shapes show illustrations of amoebas, embryos and other cellular forms.

 Thats all for now folks

XOXO
