Marc Jacobs Resort 2015

I have quite an exciting week ahead of me working for Marc Jacobs in their head office in Paris. It was only right that I'd check out their Resort 2015 collection.

Minidresses in black guipure lace, jewel-toned crushed velvet, or leopard-printed sequins worn with sheer black hose and strappy heels or slouchy go-go boots formed the crux of the lineup.

The shimmery textures coming with pieces like dresses and coats and combining their shiny surface with animal-print hints are also noteworthy for the overall chic.

A great combination of colour, glitter and Friday night vibes, however personally i find that the collection clashes too much, making me squint my eyes as there's too much going on. However i adore the see through lace dresses with what looked like a silk nightgown inside was beautiful.

Carven Resort 2015

Polished, laser cut fabric, material blocking and colour blocking...Carven's Resort 2015

collection screamed out at me. I personally like the sporty and active look, especially

the athletic collars. The colour palette features grey, white, pylon orange, black and

turquoise.

A feature i love are the chunky sandals that match the same colour socks. Active and in

some ways masculine, the silhouettes of many of the ensembles are slim fit and ladylike.

An electric late sixties early seventies vibe of colourful suede micro-minidresses covered

in crystals; mismatched paisley-printed blouses and flares topped with hand-crocheted

vests, military-button jackets and coats...

Matisse Cut-Outs Exhibition at the Tate NOT TO BE MISSED

This is the largest display ever to have been put on of Matisse's cut-out works and its remarkable.

It shows many of Matisse's works that he created at the end of his life and its the first time may of the art work have been displayed outside of France.

As the artist himself said, they are examples of how he was “cutting directly into colour.”

From studying the human anatomy in my final year of art a-level, the four famous blue nudes really drew me in as they gave me an insight into Matisse's depiction of the female form and its sculptural quality.

Overall, this exhibition gave me a greater insight into his technique, his repositioning and slight hesitation of creating such masterpieces.

This show should not be missed. It has never before been matched.

This is a feast of dazzling dreams: come to the carnival.
