To me Francoise Hardy exudes seduction, glamour, charisma and that oh so tempting french charm...
Musician, model and muse, no one represented the sixties Parisian chic like Francoise Hardy. She is simply an icon.
Born in 1944 in Paris...she was given a guitar for her birthday and just a year later at the age of 17 she was signed to record label Vogue. Her debut release was "Tous Les Garcons et Les Filles" and sold over a million copies.
Despite her shyness and discomfort with fame, Hardy still shone as a icon and never let viewers down. She had incredible style and was ever so beautiful. Hardy's style influence was Nicolas Ghesquiere, former head of the couture house Balenciaga. Her dusty brown straight hair, thick eyebrows and sultry lips made her an instant icon of not only fashion but also beauty. Her two classic staples were the simplistic Breton stripes and a kohl winged eye. Her essence made her wanted by many fashion houses, forming strong friendships with the likes of Yves Saint Laurent.
Still producing music, Hardy has recently produced a new album called "L'amour Fou"
Hardy will forever inspire women and be a icon of music and style.
Here are a few of my favourite songs of hers...
The buzz i got when walking onto the catwalk for Clements Ribeiro's Spring/Summer 2013 show with Hardy's song "Le Temps de l'Amour" was electrifying. It made the experience even more fun as i got to do what i love whilst listening to one of my all-time favourite songs.
